EU-ASEAN Symposium on IP Enforcement by Specialised Courts, Challenges and Recent Developments in IPR To mark the 8th anniversary of the Central Intellectual Property and International Trade Court (CIPITC), a regional conference was co-organised by the Court and ECAP II.  This special event gathered senior IP practitioners, lawyers and other professionals from ASEAN, Europe, Japan and the United States.

Training in search, examination and IP information for NOIP and DOST staff, 28 November - 2 December 2005, Alicante, Spain A 25-person delegation from Vietnam's National Office of Intellectual Property (NOIP) and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) paid a study visit to OHIM in Alicante, Spain.

Patent Drafting Workshops To assist Indonesia with the creation of an IP Consultant (patent attorney) profession, ECAP II organised two workshops on patent drafting together with the Directorate General of Intellectual Property Rights (DGIPR) in Indonesia in Bandung and Surabaya.

Study Visit to the Thai Central Intellectual Property and International Trade Court, 28-30 November 2005, Bangkok A joint delegation of six officials from Cambodia and the Philippines visited the Thai CIPIT Court, the Supreme Court and the Public Prosecutor's Office and the Department of Intellectual Proeprty (DIP) to find out about Thailand's experiences in setting upp a specialised IP judiciary.

Training of Industrial Design Examiners and Completion of the Industrial Designs Manual at MyIPO, 21-24 November 2005, Kuala Lumpur OHIM expert Jose Izquierdo conducted a training course and consultation for eight officials from the industrial design section of the MyIPO with the aim of improving the skills of industrial design examiners and completing the industrial designs manual.

Workshop on the “Application of Targeted Risk Management for Customs᾿ Some 60 Customs officials from Thailand attended the workshop on the "Application of Targeted Risk Management for Customs", jointly organised by the Royal Thai Customs and ECAP II. During the workshop, experts from the Directorate General Taxation and Customs Union (TAXUD) of the European Commission, Customs from Malta, Portugal and the Netherlands Customs as well as from Thailand exchanged their experience and expertise on targeting and selection techniques used in the European Union and in Thailand.
