Intellectual Property Rights can be enforced by the rights holders themselves via civil actions. In addition, criminal enforcement activities (e.g. raids on software pirates) are carried out regularly by the Intellectual Property Rights Branch of the Criminal Investigations Department of the Singapore Police Force.

Handbook of Indonesia IPR laws in Indonesian language
ECAP II sponsored the publishing of 1 000 handbooks containing Indonesian IPR laws currently in force (in Indonesian language). This forms part of the DGIPR’s efforts to disseminate IPR information to enhance awareness in Indonesia. The handbook is now available at the DGIPR.

ECAP II assisted the Supreme People’s Court of Vietnam in the drafting and translation into English of guidelines for the courts on how to use and implement TRIPS-conform remedies in accordance with the new Civil Procedural Code 2004.

ASEAN DVD video on IPR protection
The first ASEAN DVD video on IPR protection was produced within the framework of the ECAP II co-operation programme with ASEAN countries. The DVD aims at raising awareness on intellectual property rights and represents a comprehensive, yet easy to understand, overview of all aspects of intellectual property: patents, trade marks, plant varieties, geographical indications, industrial designs and copyright.
