South East Asian Patent Drafting (SEAD) Course, 17-21 September 2007, Bangkok

The second of two training sessions in patent drafting was organised in Bangkok by the International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys (FICPI) with the support of the European Patent Office (EPO) and the ECAP II Programme. Amongst over 40 participants to this year’s South East Asian Drafting (SEAD) course, seven patent examiners from ASEAN IP Offices countries were supported by ECAP II. This activity aims to develop patent drafting skills in order to increase the quality of patent applications in the region and to promote an IP drafting profession with enhanced protection and promotion of innovations as a result. The first session of this course was organised on 14-18 May 2007.
Following this year successful experience, the next SEAD courses are also scheduled to be organised in Thailand in 2008. For more information, please visit www.ficpi.org.
