EU-ASEAN Symposium on IP Enforcement by Specialised Courts, Challenges and Recent Developments in IPR, 1-2 December 2005, Bangkok

To mark the 8th anniversary of the Central Intellectual Property and International Trade Court (CIPITC), a regional conference was co-organised by the Court and ECAP II.  This special event gathered senior IP practitioners, lawyers and other professionals from ASEAN, Europe, Japan and the United States.  The present trends and recent developments in IPR enforcement were among the main topics highlighted by this forum.

HE Dr. Friedrich Hamburger, Ambassador-Head of EC Delegation to Thailand, said that Thailand has strengthened its effort to enforce intellectual property rights in recent years and its experience to this end together with the unique set-up of the CIPITC provide learning experience for ASEAN countries.

With the active collaboration of the Court, ECAP II has organised a number of study visits to the Court for ASEAN Delegations, who were interested in studying Thailand’s intellectual property rights enforcement model.
