Under the ASEAN Framework Agreement on Intellectual Property Co-operation, the ASEAN member states are pursuing a dialogue on the possible establishment of common regional IP registration systems, notably in the domains of patents, trade marks and industrial designs.
In this respect, two European experts and two representatives from each of the participating ECAP II countries from ASEAN will gather at the Indonesian capital for a regional course on “Relative Grounds for Refusal Examination and Opposition Proceedings - Trade Marks”.
The two day event is the third in a series of Common Patent and Trade mark Courses that have been running since mid 2002. Practical case studies and comparative discussions form the basis of these courses, which aim to increase the common knowledge on the substantive trade mark practices and procedures among the respective IP offices in Southeast Asia and Europe.
