
The ASEAN University Network (AUN), in co-operation with the Chulalongkorn University, the Japan Foundation and ECAP II co-organised a regional workshop on IP Teaching in ASEAN in Bangkok from 12 to 14 September 2007.
The workshop was opened by Associate Professor Dr. Piniti Ratananukul, Executive Director of the ASEAN University Network, Mr. Takeji Yoshikawa, Executive Director of the Southeast Asian Bureau/Director General of The Japan Foundation and Mr. Samuel Cantell, First Secretary - Economic Cooperation of the European Commission Delegation to Thailand.
During this two and-one-half day forum, participants from AUN universities, Japan and Europe discussed on IP, its impact on innovation, culture and development as well as on universities' IP policies in ASEAN, Europe and Japan. On the third day, the first annual meeting of the AUN Intellectual Property (AUNIP) Sub-Committee, launched during the ECAP II/AUN Regional Conference on IP Education and Networking on 28-30 May 2007 in Bangkok, was also held after the workshop to establish the roadmap of AUNIP.
