Study Visit on IP Enforcement, 22-26 October 2007, Belgium and France

In co-operation with the European Commission Directorate General of Taxation and Customs Union (DG TAXUD), and French authorities,  ECAP II organised a study visit to Europe for 13 high ranking senior officials from various vietnamese IP enforcement agencies. Delegates from NOIP, Customs, Economic Police, Market Control Department, Inspectorate for Science & Technology, culture and information as well as from the Government Office were represented.

The study visit aimed at enhancing their understanding of the European enforcement system and experiences, roles of enforcement agencies in handling IP violations and European co-operation between agencies and right-holders . 

During the one-week visit, delegates met with relevant IP enforcement agencies in Brussels which were- the European Commission DG TAXUD and World Customs Organization (WCO).  In France, the delegation was welcomed by the French Office of Industrial Property (INPI), the Direction Générale de la concurrence, de la Consommation et de la Répression des Frauds (DGCCRF), Judiciary Police and representatives from the private sector through  the « ‘Union des Fabricants »’.  They also discussed enforcement issues with Sanofi Aventis and Bic companies.
