Expert Mission on the Development of National IP Curricula and IP Educational material, 2-6 October 2006, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City

Following the preparatory meeting organised by ECAP II in Bangkok in mid August 2006, Prof Michael Blakeney from the European Intellectual Property Institutes Network (EIPIN) and Dr Nantana Gajaseni from the ASEAN University Network (AUN) were on mission in Vietnam to visit Hanoi Law University, Vietnam National University (in Hanoi and in Ho Chi Minh City), Ho Chi Minh Law University, the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam and the National Office of Intellectual Property (NOIP) to help develop national IP curricula and to identify teaching materials for these courses. Similar missions have been organised in Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos and Thailand between August and September 2006. These missions aim to analyse the current situation of IP teaching in these countries and prepare for further developments and EU-ASEAN co-operation in promoting IP education in the region.
