Implementation of a new digital trade mark administration system 17-21 September 2001, Bangkok

Two OHIM experts – one trade mark expert specializing in work flow and procedures, along with the other IT specialist on systems analysis and design, worked together with Thai officials at the DIP Thailand for a week. The experts’ mission was to analyze the trade mark administration system together with its search facilities to come up with recommendations for streamlining the procedures and for improving the efficiency of handling trade mark applications. In addition to the expert missions in Bangkok, the activity was followed up during the ECAP-sponsored study visit to OHIM by four DIP officials the following week. The final report has been presented to the Thai government which will use it as basis to assess how to improve and streamline existing procedures, and in particular in implementing a new digital trade mark administration system.
