Training on PCT issues (receiving section) 4-8 March, 2002 Manila

The Philippines became a member of the international Patent Cooperation Treaty, or PCT, in August 2001, and the IPO required assistance in training patent examiners on PCT issues (receiving section) in order to prepare for the administration of PCT-related works.

An EPO expert, Mr R. Pether, who also took part in the first-to-file training, spent one week at the IPO to identify administrative requirements and to offer advice. Among the topics addressed during training period are EPO experience in handling PCT applications and the experience of EPO as receiving office.
