Study Visit to Europe on Collecting Societies for Philippines 10-14 September 2001, Munich and Paris

ECAP sponsored a study tour about copyright by a Philippine delegation to Munich and Paris during 10-14 September, 2001. A group of four Philippine officials active in the area of copyright and collecting societies had an opportunity to meet and exchange views with representatives of European institutions in Munich and Paris. The aim of this activity was to contribute to the improvement of the functioning and establishment of collecting societies in the Philippines. Along with a team of Vietnamese officials joining the same study tour under EPO bilateral funding, the Philippine delegates met with representatives from the French Ministry of Culture, ADAMI, CISAC (International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers, SACEM, SACD in Paris, and GEMA (Society for Musical Performing Rights and Mechanical Reproduction-the German collecting society,) and BUMA/STEMRA (the Dutch Collecting Society) in Germany
