The two-day seminar featuring European, ASEAN and Filipino experts on the importance of IP assets, and how to value and commercialise them played an important role in raising public awareness, in particular within the SME sector and among academia. The event drew over 100 participants, many of whom expressed appreciation for the knowledge offered by the seminar and were prompted to follow up.  "We will immediately take stock of what we own in order to conduct an inventory of our IP assets," said Attorney Aurora L.T. Perez the impact of the course on participants' work. Another participant M.O.Sahagun identified strategies on IP management and how these should be aligned to the overall business strategies of a company, plus how to best extract the value from IP assets, as the most important aspects learned from the seminar.  Academic Dr Maribel Nonato wrote in her assessment of the event that "as director of the research centre, I will echo this input to the researchers and open their eyes on how their intellectual property assets can be protected and utilised."
