Promotion of the IP Attorney Profession, 3-14 May 2004, Manila

Paving the way for the development of the patent attorney profession in the Philippines, where currently there is no system for registering and accrediting patent attorneys, the activity will also contribute to improved efficiency in the filing and treatment of applications and the creation of an attorney network helpful to both local and European industries. EPO expert Daniel Closa completed a mission to Manila, during which he met all concerned parties. His report provides a set of recommendations for the development of a patent agent qualifying examination in the Philippines. ECAP II and the IPO have agreed to follow up on this particular activity.
