To help improve skills in patent claim drafting of professionals, ECAP sponsored two participants each from the Philippines and Thailand to attend the specialised training programme run by FICPI and South East Asian Patent Drafting Training Course (SEAD) for patent agents. This practical hands-on training in the preparation of patent applications and claims involved lectures, claim-drafting exercises, examination and assessment. The Philippine and Thai participants expressed appreciation for the course, which they said, have equipped them with the skills that they can directly apply to their work. ECAPII also financed two trainers for the course under the Singapore national component.
