Expert Mission to draft Legislation to implement WIPO Internet Treaties, 20-22 September 2004, Manila

Dr Silke v. Lewinski, Head of the Department of International Law and Particular Problems of Developing Countries at the Max Planck Institute for Intellectual Property, Competition and Tax Law in Munich, made the most of her short visit to the Philippines. She spoke at the colloquium for judges on IP and she also held a series of interviews and consultations to collect information for a report on how the Philippines can prepare legislation to accommodate WIPO Internet treaties.

Dr v. Lewinski has provided expert consultancy to the European commission in a number of cases and also extensive consultancy services to former Eastern, Central European and former Soviet Union countries on their copyright legislation. She has published and edited numerous publications, and has been giving lectures worldwide since 1987, particularly on topics related to copyright law - primarily international and European copyright law and problems relating to new technologies.
