Study Visit to the Thai Central Intellectual Property and International Trade Court (CIPITC), 26-27 September 2005, Bangkok

A delegation of seven Malaysian officials headed by Mr. Surrendren Sathavisam, Principal Assistant Director of the Policy and Planning Division of MyIPO, undertook a two-day visit to the Thai IP Court in order to study the possibility of setting up an IP specialized Court on bench in Malaysia.  They were welcomed by Chief Judge Suvicha Nagavajara and were briefed on how the Court was set up, and about how it functions today.  They participated also in an IP case hearing. The session was followed by a visit to the Public Prosecutor's Office and to the Supreme Court.

The delegation also paid a courtesy visit to the Department of Intellectual Property where they were given an overview on the implementation and advancement of the Suppression Office.
