Study Visit on Commercialisation of IP Rights, 20-24 February 2006, United Kingdom and Sweden

Mr Ong Chui Koon, Head of Intellectual Property Services Section, SIRIM Berhad, Mr Sahani Bin Ahmad, Senior Consultant of SIRIM Berhad, Professor Shahnor Basri, Deputy Director of Institut Teknologi Maju, University Putra Malaysia, and Mrs Jamilah Kamaruddin, Public Relations Officer of Malaysia Intellectual Property Corporation (MyIPO), undertook a MyIPO/SIRIM study visit to the United Kingdom Patent Office and the Swedish Patent Office.  The delegates from the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO) studied the economic importance of IP assets and IP information for businesses.  In Sweden, they visited Ericsson and AstraZeneca in Stockholm.  Ms Gulsemin Bal, ECAP II Programme Assistant, accompanied the delegation throughout the visit.

Mr Ong Chui Koon reported that he found the study visit informative, useful and relevant to his consultancy work.
