Completion and Update of Implementing Decrees and Guidelines in the Field of Customs 24 January – 4 February 2005, Jakarta

In the framework of ECAP II, Dr. Michael Blakeney from Queen Mary Institute of Intellectual Property Research, University of London, will spend two weeks in Jakarta to study the current legislation in the field of border control and to assist the Indonesian authorities with the drafting of implementing decrees and guidelines.

It is expected that the mission will provide clear implementing regulations and guidelines and contribute to the completion of the Indonesian IP legislation as well as to a more efficient administration of the newly enacted IPR legislation. The mission is further expected to strengthen the combat against piracy and counterfeiting.

A well-known IP specialist, Prof. Blakeney is among the experts drafting comprehensive strategic plan on IPR for Indonesia, which forms the basis the annual work plan of national ECAP II activities for Indonesia.
