Workshop on Petty Patents/Utility Models, 25-29 June 2007, Bangkok (Thailand)

Delegates from the Department of Industrial Property from the Ministry of Industry Mines and Energy of Cambodia, the Department of Intellectual Property Standardization and Metrology (DIP) of Laos and the Department of Intellectual Property (DIP) of the Thai Ministry of Commerce participated in a training session organised at the premises of the Thai DIP. Messrs. Martin Jäger and Peter Weber from the German Patent and Trademark Office (GPTO) conducted a one-week workshop on petty patents/utility models aiming at developing skills of patent examiners in examining national and international applications. They presented the German system on registration, search and examination of patent and utility models. During this workshop, Mr. Veerasak Maiwattana, Head of Petty Patent Section, also presented to Lao and Cambodian officials the experience of the Thai Department of Intellectual Property in Thailand on petty patents' management.
