Study Visit/Training on Plant Variety Protection, 3-7 September 2007, France











As part of ECAP II assistance in the development of Plant Variety Protection (PVP) legal framework in Lao PDR and Cambodia, four Cambodian and three Laotian officials from IP offices and Ministries of Agriculture undertook a five day study visit and training to France organised in co-operation with the French Committee for the Protection of Plant Varieties (CPOV), the Association for Seeds and Seedlings (GNIS) and the European Community Plant Variety Office (CPVO). In addition to CPOV, CPVO and GNIS visits, the delegates visited French other PVP-related agencies and stakeholders in order to learn on the practical and administrative aspects of the protection and management of new plant varieties. During the visit, controls over seed batches, DUS methodology were also demonstrated.
